Editorial & Review Process
Our process is editorial: submissions are read and assessed by our editorial team. We describe each stage here so you know what to expect.
1. Acknowledgement
We confirm receipt of your submission and check that it is complete — manuscript, author details, and any disclosures.
2. Editorial reading
An editor reads the submission for relevance, originality, accuracy of legal position, quality of citation, and clarity of argument.
This is an in-house editorial assessment. We do not describe it as peer review or blind review, and we make no claim of external refereeing.
3. Decision or revision
We either accept the piece, ask for revisions with specific comments, or decline it. Where we ask for revisions, we give a clear indication of what needs to change.
Submission does not guarantee publication.
4. Copy-editing
Accepted work is edited for structure, language, citation consistency, and house style. Material changes are shared with the author before publication.
5. Publication
The piece is published with the author's name, a publication date, and its category and tags, and is linked from the relevant sections of the site.
Corrections after publication are made on the page and noted.
